Big thanks to all who made our last party an amazing send off for Marco who has left the UK and me for a warmer climate. I can’t blame him with this rain business. Here’s some pics from the night to reminisce and contemplate good times…
But we’re not stopping the party just yet. Relaying the torch from Gatto fritto this time is Jonny Nash. The rumour has it that he singlehandedly introduced cosmic disco to a handful of hardcore Japanese diggers after a chance meeting with Daniele Baldelli at Red Bull Music Academy. Jonny then formed the influential Discossession collective with Chee (Organic Records), Dr. Nishimura and Zecky (R.I.P.) in Japan where he resided for a few years. Discossession went on to release a couple of amazing 12″ on a legendary imprint, Crue-L records.
Nowadays though, he is best known as one half of electronic new age ballad unit, Land Of Light (ESP Institute) with Kyle Martin. You’ve probably seen their esoteric Boiler Room set from last year. If not check it out. It’s far out.
He promised to bring his unique mix of harmonic house and mental Japanese/Euro disco records to our party and I know it’ll be ace.
Cheap entry, expensive vinyl and sane people.
See you on the dancefloor!
